Look what I got for $10 this morning. :d
Nice, is that a hex clicker? , maybe the angle of the picture ? Can't beat that for ten bucks!! And a spark plug to boot
Yeah, + what looks like some braid and a box, nice!
My #16 catalog(~1950) has the LB-65 for $10. Does it have part numbers?

Gfish, it didn't have a catalog unfortunately. It did come with the "How to care for your Penn Reels" flyer and a plastic storage bag with red draw string that says "Compliments of Penn Reels".
Never seen one before.
Part numbers that I can see are:
Reel Seat 30-64
Handle has a "B" stamped on it and 24-60.
Handle side oil port is 26-80, other side 40-60
Star Drag is 10-60
Wow.
Yup, you did reel good on that deal!!

The long beach 65 was $10 for 3 years....1951 thru 1953. The plastic draw string bags were only around for a short time in the early 50's. Nice find !! I'd value it at around $50-$60
That's not a deal... per the box, $10 is full retail!
Did you start haggling at $5 and then end up at $10? 8)
Good find!

When she told me $10 I couldn't find my Alexander Hamilton fast enough.
