I have one,it shows some wear but it's in one piece. PM you're address and I'll send it to you.
It may have split due to swelling of the headplate, not uncommon it the older Penns. It is addressed in detail in other threads here. I used Harbor Freight small files, only a few bucks to knock the material off the plate a little at a time. Trust me the ring won't stretch to fit if swelling is your problem. I still troll the 49's in Mass and Fla. The drag disengagement lever gets tied down with light twine to a cross post on the reels I fish so a guest doesn't accidentally put the 49 in "knuckle buster" mode.
Thank you City hunker. I'll definitely take a look at that when I get replacement ring. Yea that free drag lever is more useless than useful. 🤷🏼♂️
