Title: Starting to rebuild my Penn 10/0
Post by: Gunrunner on February 05, 2017, 10:01:31 PM
Hello guys well I finally took that 10/0 apart
And it looks like it has never been used little or no grease
In it and what was in it was a thick black sticky
Like glue substance so I put all the parts to soaking
On the spindle I found some very small thin washers
I'm guessing that these are shims there were
3 on one end 2 on the other no grease or
Protectant on any of the bolts or screws but very
Little corrosion used pb blaster to free everything
Else the oil was like a sticky varnish bit it came off
I will clean the parts today and star putting it together
The drags a new they show no signs of use
Of any kind there the old style but new I think I'll
Keep them for now

Scott
