What is the difference between the 6 and 7 hundred series of Japanese Cardinal reels? For example, comparing a 652 to a 752.

Not a lot. They were both made about the same time. The biggest differences I have seen is in the drag configuration. The 752 has more washers than the 652, at least in the schematics I've seen and the reels I have. Most parts won't interchange, but some will, although the part numbers are not the same. There are a few minor cosmetic differences, too, but not a whole lot to the untrained eye.
