well, ok, but what's up with the reel?  i generally tell guys not to mess with them unless there is an issue.

Happily, nothing is wrong with the reel. I used it on an 8 day and a 10 day, and I was just wanting to disassemble and clean. I bought it used on eBay so I thought a look inside was in order.

While I have you-- where is the best place to buy the small grease gun with the needle nozzle that you use??, and is Cal's grease a good substitute for the Yamaha??  Thanks, Patfish

the drags are greased and will be good forever.  hit the outside with a little corrosion x and wipe it down well.  after that, you should be good.
