Title: THREAD PITCH/SIZE - Updated
Post by: Marlinmate on March 09, 2011, 03:37:04 AM
After my recent bout with broken and sheared off screws on Penn reels, caused by corrosion, I thought I would consice some information and post for everyone. I had to drill and tap 4 different size threads on various Penn Reels. Here are some Penn part#'s and the thread/pitch sizes associated:

Penn Part      Size Tap

110-50                    5-40

31-50                      8-32
38-50

34-50T                  1/4  - 20

32-14ch.                5-40      uses #38 drill bit
16-60Ch                6-40 uses #33 drill bit
32-17                    5-40
63-30T                  8-32  uses a #29 drill bit
Please add others as you encounter them.
