OK the "ENDEAVOR" is full & our fearless leader is being left at the docks  :P but the kicker is that Ron and the lovely Alison got their leave approved and that makes 3 over the booked amount  >:( ...I have contacted the landing and we have 3 on the waiting list under my name as of right now. I also have reached out to Kyle, the owner of the "PHENIX" and as of now he has no trip scheduled for Nov. 6 and I am trying to see if he's willing to open up his boat for our party? The "PHENIX" is smaller than the "ENDEAVOR" but we would max out at 19 & that would be tight on a skinny 45 footer...I have reached out to a couple of locals to add to the party and my hopes are that we can convince Kyle to run 15 people and it may be only a 10 hour trip & we may have to pony up a few extra $$. Next thing is (Mario) the kid on deck is a real newbie "PINHEAD" and if we work this out I will want Alan, JT & myself to pitch in on deck and in the galley to help the kid out & make things run smoother.

We got the "PHENIX" for 15 people @ $129.10 each for a 10 hour trip...We have 13 right now. I'm working on 2 more

It's almost official...We now have a Charter & will be dubbed the AT.COM on Nov. 6, 2016 ... It will either 5am-3pm or 7am-5pm... I am trying to get all your monies transferred to the charter but my need to have you call in to give the OK... For those who haven't paid ... Alan, Ron & Alison I will collect from you and pay the landing...I still 3 more but the cost with port tax will be:

Charter: $1936.04

15 people @ $129.10 each, so that's only an extra $20

PS:  Just got back yesterday from a four day trip on the Red Rooster out of Puerto Vallarta.  It was a tough fishing with just 17 tuna for 18 passengers for three full days and nights of fishing.  There were only two hours of daylight left on the last day when I finally got my first (and only) bite.

THE LANDING AND CAPTAIN KYLE AGREED TO CHANGE THE TIME TO 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM WITH A CHECK IN AT 6:00 AM. This will make for an easier trip for those that have to drive in that morning and not such an early wake up call.

aaaand, don't forget to turn your clock back an hour Saturday night

This year, the clocks fall back an hour on Sunday, November 6, meaning everyone gets a much-needed extra 60 minutes of sleep when 2 a.m. becomes 1 a.m.

will be doing the Pacific Islander over night trip the 4th of nov then head to cayucos on the 5th. hope to meet some AT.COM reel heads n maybe some baby reel heads(beginners)  ;D ;D ;D

I  did a NYE trip last year out of Virgs since they cancelled 2 trips earlier that month on me...Not sure if the wife would allow missing NYE two years n a row...I'd hate for her to have to get a kiss at midnight from someone else...then again we're usually in bed by 9:30 anyway!!

Mel I bring my spinner for swim baits, a rod just for jigs & a rod that I'll have a 16oz. weight and a shrimp fly rig..All with #30 or #25 topshots over braid. Been doin' the same 3 for a while and it hasn't helped me a bit  ;D

I arrived last night and called into The Landing this morning.
They'll process my refund in the next day or two, so I'll sort Tim's payment today.
Surfed this morning and saw a good-sized workup about a mile out.
Looked like one of The Landing's charter boats was on it too.
Hopefully we'll be into some fish on the trip!

OK guys, I have figured out that I am ill equipped for this trip. Most all my bottom fishing stuff in in Wa. and I am not going to get there before this weekend. I plan on being at Alan's on Thirsday or Friday depending on the schedule of the local fleet of C-17s. Is there someone around Alan's place that can take me to a gear shop so I can spend some money?

Plus Randy Pauly has a bunch of rods and reels on consignment there as well.
If between Big Tim , Alan and Myself we can't set you up there is a problem.

To celebrate this great trip I'm bringing along a couple give-a-ways....


I'm gonna give away a flat fall jig to the person whos name i pull out a hat on the way to the fishing grounds....


I'm also gonna bring along enough brand new fish towels with belt clips (actually they are golf towels but does that matter :) ) for all 16 of us to use and keep so no needs to get their delicate hands dirty  ;D ;D ;D

What time is everyone arriving in the area????

I'm hoping to be in the area by early afternoon to pick up some supplies/jigs/gear at Jerry's and then head to the Cayucos pier to get some casting pratice in so i don't spend the whole next day picking out birds nests from my 501....

cancelled my channel islands trip because what was i thinking...Sensei is there a freezer in the house?   ;D :D ;) :)

will leave inland empire no later than 1700 hrs.. hopeing for less traffic that way it's only a 4-5 hr. drive. c u all sat...

PJ, people will be arriving today, tomorrow Saturday as well Sunday morning. Not sure if you are allowed to overhead cast on the Pier and not much room for that on the Phenix, but   I would definitely practice underhand flip cast.

Well if he was scared while watching you cast then i think he'll have a heart attach watching me try to flip a jig out there.....I should bring everyone helmets in case my flip out turns into a flip into the boat!!!!

I was planning on going by in the afternoon on Sat anyway.
Plus Randy Pauly has a bunch of rods and reels on consignment there as well.
If between Big Tim , Alan and Myself we can't set you up there is a problem.

If anyone sees any rods or reels that they like at Jerry's, just tell JoAnne that you are with the Alan Tani group and she will give you a 10% discount.  They are open until 5:00 today and Friday and until noon on Saturday.  See you Sunday!
