This is my first reel tear-down and grease/ replacing broken parts and I have a couple questions that I have not found any answers to about the mitchell garcia 351.
After I got the reel apart I noticed the teeth on the spindle and the reel axle are worn down excessively.
Pictures are attached.
1) Should I replace the spindle and axle?
2) If so, where would I get those? I see some on ebay, but the pictures are not very good and I cannot tell if they are worn. I also cannot find anywhere else to get one.
I only had 4 shims in my reel. I was missing the '49A' shim and the 54 shim (though this last one was optional I think).
3) Where would I go about getting new shims for my reel?

If your spool seats well and you are able got get smooth drag from your spool after replacing the drags to greased carbon fiber, then I wouldn't worry about it.
If someone would have parts, I'd bet it'll be Fred Oakes. I'm sure he will chime in shortly.
