Title: Delete eccentrics on Double sprung dog SS?
Post by: JasonGotaProblem on September 17, 2020, 05:56:48 PM
I posed this question on my thread about my current build but its buried on page 4 and I would love to get some input. If I am doing a full time double sprung dog AR system, do I even need the eccentrics and connected switches? Can i just remove those and the transfer lever? And if not, is it reasonable to turn the hole that remains into a drain plug? This is not a sealed reel and all the internals are brass.

Why not thread the hole and put in a zerk fitting? Then you can pump out any water with a grease gun.  ;D ;D  ;D  ;D

Or just fill the whole gearbox with grease, and no water can get in?  ::)

How bad is it that I had to google what a zerk fitting is? Clearly I come here to put my inexperience on display.

Well, I did it. This is the type of mod where something will have to be going very wrong before I ever get to test it. But that doesn't mean its a bad mod, right? Like upgrading your brakes. Or so I tell myself.
