Need one of these IF you know anyone or you have one .
No part Number I can find anywhere but it DOES come off the shaft .(https://oldreelcollectors.com/gallery/2-250622111138-1395834.jpeg)
Which series Stella?
I've seen a schematic which states in no uncertain terms not to remove that part from the spool shaft. It doesn't have a part number because you're supposed to buy the spool shaft and that block as a single part.
Boon, all it says on this thing is Shimano SC66k Stella 5000.
You have to take the slider off to remove the Shaft .One part number we found was RD20557 .
Nice lil Reel except for this little crap metal part.
And everything on the Shimano Site says NOT to Take this Reel apart but I NEVER LISTEN ............. that's how Mechanics Roll....lol
yeah, just noticed that there's no screw shown on schematic to take slider off shaft
that's two different metals, one being comparatively weak, corrosion-prone AL alloy
fine for little F/W reels, but attrocious for Stella SW 5000/6000
I'm gonna get my butt ripped here, but throw that pile of junk in the trash and be happy it's gone. Those things are so over rated I can hardly stand it. I would only take one for free only if I had a buyer already lined up for it, and then I'd feel guilty and probably warn him.
yes, Tom... WAAAAAAY TOOOO MANY PARTS!!!
BUT, I'd keep the bronze gears (BOTH!!!), handle & spool,
on the off chance they fit a simpler TwinPower/Sustain
Is it even a Stella SW? The schematic you're working from is for a Stella C5000 as far as I can tell.
I've only worked on the SW models but I could get the spool shaft out without pulling the oscillation block off.

How do you figure? I might be biased due to owning a couple but I fish mine hard and they've been nothing but reliable and the performance is exceptional.

It is a Shimano SC66k Stella 5000
The picture I posted is for reference and depicts the actual piece that is broken and on this Reel I have in my posession there are 2 pins going throgh the piece and two screws on the under side . 1 is a slot screw that goes all the way through the Shaft the other is a VERY SMALL allen that locks the slider on the shaft so you HAVE to remove the pins to rotate the slider around to get to the screws soooooooo in theory you can leave the piece I need laying in the housing to remove the shaft but why would you .
I do not have a schematic that ACTUALLY says
Shimano SC66k Stella 5000 but the pic I posted sure LOOKS like the guts I have .
I may try and make one outa aluminum .Trial and error

😁 And you don't fish in saltwater!
I knew it, ;D but then I've never been a Shimano or Daiwa fan. :d
I haven't struck many yet that you couldn't get the shaft out in one piece, but you always have to remove the pinion gear and it's supporting bearing/bush and that allows the shaft enough movement to tilt clear of the body and slide out the back. In fact, often you can't get the main gear and the (usually) stuck-to-the-shaft bearing out of the RH sideplate without displacing the shaft out of normal alignment. Is this one different?
cheers
Steve

The ONLY way to get the shaft out on this without removing the Slider would be to cut it in Half.
BTW the main gear comes right out no problemo .
Maybe we are refering to differnt parts here .
The Shaft (what the Spool Fits On) has a piece (pictured above ) in this thread is which attached to it with 2 screws and without removing them you just ain't gonna get the shaft out of the frame. And you ain't gonna get those 2 screws out without removeing the 2 long pinds from the back of the housing which line everything up withe the worm gear and pawl holding slider thingamajig.
Well built Reel with lots of bearings and gaskets but piece of CRAP pot metal Slider is it's Achilles Heel .

I've never seen that on any older/cheaper Shimano, unless the pinion bearing is frozen, or it's a rear-drag shaft w/ crossbar(or really old 80's model w/ permanent spool-cam on shaft)sometimes, shaft+slider has to be at highest oscillation, for best wiggle-room

Don't think it is a CHEAP REEL ..........

Price wise, not so much. Quality wise, your pot metal example tells me all I need to know. :o
Yup. A drop of saltwater in the wrong place + time...

Yeah, I keep looking at the first photo that has the rotor/pinion/bearing/supporting collar still in place. If the rotor and everything else on the spool shaft is removed out the front the shaft has enough clearance to lift clear of the body and slide out rearwards, does it not?
The two bars #'s 115(pins ) go through the Slider that is attached to the shaft # 106 . On this Shimano SC66K Stella 5000 .Those Remove from the back of the housing ,then you can turn the Slider over to Remove the two retaining screws, then the shaft and Spool pulls out leaving the Rotor attached to the Housing.
Now all that said it doesn't make any difference how you guys can get this out without doing it the way I do but it is the only way I can replace the broken Slider IF I can get one .There is No reason to remove anything else as nothing else is in the way .
Two pins ,two screws ,pull the shaft out enough to get the Slider off , put a new slider on Preferably , (or shaft assembly which you will have to take slider off to reassemble) put it back together and your Done .
This pic is from a Japanese Site and says it is a SW5000SG and the illustrated pieces I have shown are pretty much like the one I have . The rest of the illustration is different .
The reel you have is an original, 2000/2001 Stella. Getting a part is going to be extremely difficult... even a non-Stella donor reel is unlikely to have a suitable part because the Stellas, as the flagship, seldom share parts with lower-cost reels.
Finding someone who can machine a replacement is likely going to be your best way forward, but repair cost may end up exceeding the value of the reel.
I'd help you out if I could, Henry, but I think you already know why I can't. Good luck Señor.
