Title: Tethering sideplates on baitcaster reels
Post by: Tile on April 10, 2020, 11:42:14 AM
After seeing the Youtube video done by Tackle Advisers about tethering the sideplate on o Shimano TranX baitcaster, I decided to expand the idea further with two od my baitcasters.  The tethering material used is BCY Powergrip (yes I do archery as well:) which has 2 end loops tied with figure 8 knots and secured in such a way that does not impede mounting and access to change spools or clear backlashes.

This may be helpful also for bass anglers.

This is the ticket for baitcasters that have cenrifugal brakes and their sideplates are not captive.
