Found this reel looking through my dads old things. looks like it was well used. I dont know any about but I thought I would ask if its worth restoring and if it was a good reel in its day?

personally I think it would be a great reel to restore and probably not to big of a cost I believe you could probably still get all the parts

I agree with Rob, definitely worth sorting.
The 5600 is one of my all-time favourite reels.
I reckon the new version is a beauty:
