Title: Ferrule and collet question
Post by: ReelFishingProblems on May 15, 2018, 02:02:23 AM
Is there a size #3 ferrule and collet.
I have an older unibutt-like aluminum butt, but a #2 ferrule is too small and a #4 ferrule is too big.

Anyone have any ideas or information?

Thank you,
Nick

Yes there is, but the manufacturers may not have standardized the sizes.  I once bought an AFTCO slickbut (minus collet nut), but it is a size 2, too small for the blank I had to build on.  It would fit a Calstar GX8 and thinner.

I still have the slick butt and use for lining reels.  I don't recall the Varmac collets fitting.
