Title: PENN Battle 2
Post by: jgp12000 on March 06, 2021, 03:39:35 AM
I found a  reconditioned 2500 at my local BPS today for $50 bucks. I had been looking at vintage PENN Spinners for a while now but, this is one smooth reel! I am mostly a freshwater fisherman, this size will be good for Bass. Also, now that I am retired will be doing more surf fishing in Ormond Beach  and Destin, Florida. It should handle most anything, usually whiting is readily available using sand fleas for bait.

Sounds good.  I have an original Battle 6000 and I've caught YT and YFT to 30# without issue.  The YFT was easier than the YT but the reel handled them both just fine.
