Quote from: Mycept on January 11, 2025, 03:52:55 PMHello everyone. Happy to find this page and board. A couple years ago I was able to purchase a pile of stuff from a former Gladding employee.I can see in the picture you post lots of spool for 220 and 110 ,I can use some of them
If I had to guess I probably have 1000s of parts for Dam quick reels including spools, housings, gears, bushing, handles, bail arms, parts kits etc.
Also have reels that are NIB but haven't gone through all of it since bringing it home years ago so I don't know offhand if it's all different reel model parts etc.
Curious if anyone might know if someone within striking distance of CT would be interested. Way too much to ship.

Quote from: Keta on January 11, 2025, 06:18:58 AMI am a "horder", my wife is far worse. I replaced 10' of drain pipe, like it the toilet drain, and put it in the trash, she wanted to save it in case we had a future use for it. It comes from my cancer at 49 then being crushed 5 years later and zero income for 8 years. We do not waste things and a lot of our "trash" gets recycled or sold to the scrap dealerI have stored all types of garage and hardware stuff, from screws and bolts, plumbing parts, tools you name it for the past 50 years. I have many a time been able to say to the wife I repaired so and so with items I had in stock in the garage for the past 40 years. Cost me nothing now!
A few months ago our 30 year old dishwasher quit and no parts were available. I sent 3 hours breaking it down, separating steel and copper. The plastic went to the landfill, the copper into my copper hord and the steel to the scrap dealer. The scrap dealer is 1/2 mile away, I burnt $2.50 in diesel and got $4.78 for the steel. The metal gets re-used and I "made' about $0.35 an hour. I do however have about 100# of copper, 75# of stainless and well over 100# of scrap aluminum I need to sell.
