Title: 6000 spool
Post by: bruno36 on November 06, 2013, 05:43:10 AM
So some how the axle on my fixed spool is bent just enough to throw everything off. My question is what other spools will work?  Reel 087102

Hello. Any spool from any 6 sized reel ~with a flat RH sideplate~ should fit.*  If you try a spool from a fixed axle model from the low 80's, ~when Abu went to the sideplate with the "hump"~, the spool may fit, with adjustments.

The spool proper would fit the frame, but the axle stubs may not line up right, unless you mechanically adjust them.  Spool axles can be easily straightened by eye...straight enough to function if you use the donut type bushings.

*  Exception: if you use a 6C spool, the axle stubs will be configured for a bearing, not an early larger bore bushing.
