Title: Halibut on Baitrunner reel
Post by: Mumin on October 20, 2017, 06:33:46 PM
Hello,

I have a dream ... to catch a Halibut from shore.
My plan is to buy a Shimano Baitrunner XT-A Medium LC to my Wychwood 12fot/3lb rod.
have thought of using an Pulley rig with bait and 40-55lb braided line+20foot/ 40lb chock leader .
What do You guys think of this?
Thankfull for all help and thoughts with this project

But they are mostly 10-30lb.

smaller buts on Carp tackle sounds like fun, but you may want to go a bit  higher than 3.0 TC for the rod & 60-80# for the braid
