got the opportunity to take the kids across the street, plus their dad, out on the water on monday. it was absolutely flat calm. we launched out of half moon bay and hit the "triangle of death" for rockfish. the kids were hooked up with 5 foot ultralight spinners and 2 ounce laser minnow jigs, in two and a half hours, they easily caught 30 rockfish each. most were 4-5 inches, the few that came home with us were a half to a pound and a half. i got lucky and stuck an absolute hog of a lingcod, 26 pounds 3.75 ounces on a certified scale.
Sweeeeeeeeeet!
WOW!
That is a beautiful Ling Cod Alan. I never caught one on any of my few West Coast fishing trips but on my bucket list for sure.
Kudos for taking the kids out. Maybe that is what brought on the good karma.

I hear you, I even attended Detroit finest drawing school over summer at night - Stevie Wonder's Motown School of Fine Arts.
Thank you Alan, great memories the children, will never forget, cheers Don.
You set a good example for all of us, Alan!
It is easy to just rant online for a better world.
Love your family. Be a good neighbor. Practice kindness. Build bridges.
Embody what you preach. Today. And always.
Thanks for being who you are — and doing everything you do for others.
The true measure of a man is how they are remembered for their deeds — not their words.
OK, enough of the corn! Did you catch your Ling-Hog on a spinner?
Best, Fred
Terrific. You are the Ling Man. Was that an Alan Tani certified scale? ;D ;D Dominick

You made the kids day, judging by the expression! I am still waiting to take my Grandson fishing, problem is it takes an aeroplane to get him here.
Yeah, 7. But not with the cool guy from the 'hood taking me out on a boat! Good on ya, Allen.
Boss man, I see you have been working out, effortless lift...;-)
i'm told that those are "old man noises." you'll find out soon enough! ;D
That drawing should be the photo of the month......congratulations on the monster ling....Bill
Awesome drawing! I even see the lingcod under the boat and that was a really nice fish! Was it on one of Jurelometer Dave's Xperimental creations? - john
