Title: ABU 4600C4 MAG
Post by: Keta on February 20, 2019, 12:56:33 AM
The 4600C4 I just bought was a 4600C4MAG with magnetic cast control and in relatively nice shape for a $32.00 reel.  I'll try to get some photos.

Those are very nice reels.  If you take off the left side plate, the magnet assembly is kind of a pain to get back in there.  Not hard, just a little fiddly.

It is an interesting setup.  Now I have to find a 4600C4 or C3 that does not have the magnetic cast control for my project.  Where I live 5000 and 6000 size ABU reels are uncommon, the smaller ones are rare.

Have a look at the Royal Express I, II, and III as well.  They came in the 4000 size.  The main difference between them and the C3 is the Royal Express has a graphite reel foot instead of metal like the C3 and C4.  Royal Express I and II have a thumb bar and Royal Express III has the push button spool release.
