Title: Old Jigmasters
Post by: Bill B on December 11, 2020, 03:26:48 AM
While going through my stash of JigMasters, I re-discovered these two 500's.  Internally they are identical, with plastic spool, steel gears, chromed bridge, yoke and eccentric.  I did notice the plug on one is turned almost 90 degrees from the other and has a plain tail plate.  Would anyone have an idea which would be older?  Thank you.  Bill

:o  That is cool Bill!  Wonder if it is a factory "oops"?  Those reels look great. - john

I'm thinking the plain tailplate is older, I have a first year jigmaster with the sticker that has a plain tailplate like that

Hi Bill,
Same here - I also have an early 'Jig-master' stickered reel with a plain tailplate. My other Jiggy's all have writing on the tailplate.
Hope that helps.
Cheers
Martin

Thank you for the replies....this was the way I was leaning, based on the plain tail plate.  Bill
