Title: P229M bearing question
Post by: Recoil Rob on July 03, 2019, 02:00:12 AM
I just got through putting an ultimate drag stack in my 229M. I noticed the left side bearing cup has a tension spring under the bearing, (#), it's a spring steel crescent washer.

Thing is my reel had 2 of them stacked in there. I see none on the schematic for the right side cup. Is this something they used to fine tune reels and the number can vary? I only put one back and it seems fine, actually gives me a bit more range of adjustment.

thanks,

Rob

You only need one of those spring washers in the bearing cup.
