Title: Penn 114H & 115 differences
Post by: Darin Crofton on January 16, 2019, 02:59:16 AM
I'm getting a new set of Cortez 9/0 plates and one of his 9/0 frame kits.
My questions are as follows: If I'm getting a new ss gear kit, ss yoke, ss dog, already have handle arm/knob/star and a new drag kit, do I need a donor 9/0?
or do I just need a spool and a few more internal parts to finish the reel?
Thanks, Darin

Pretty sure you just need the small bits, It's nice to get new parts for a new reel. Look at mystic schematic and see what you'll need, springs, eccentric and that stuff. Much cheaper than a donor and you don't have to clean anything!

Just the spool is going to set you back $70.
With the eccentric jack and other internals, It will easily cost over $100.
I would look for a parts reel. It might save you some dough.
I sent you a pm.

Darin: That is good advice for looking into a donor reel.
