Title: New Dauntless Models
Post by: sgeorge on July 04, 2015, 07:43:55 PM
Been doing a great deal of reading and I have a question or 2.

With the new Dauntless models, they appear to have dogs for AR and have sleeved the bearings to improve free spool. Are there any other modifications that can be done by the factory or at home for improvements. I am aware that maintenance is critical but I have been doing that since the early days of Newells. I am looking at the following:

DX2-400N
DX2-500N
DX2-600NN

Thanks for any help.

Make sure you get the new stainless ARB.

Thanks, I will make sure on that one. Interested if they ever went to a thrust bearing?

Not that I know of, but with the dual drags, I've never had a binding problem with an Accurate or bearing problems from too much drag.

Talked to Accurate yesterday and they confirmed no thrust bearing and in their opinion, no need. Will order 3, 400N, 500N, 600N.
