Title: Shimano Calcutta 400 tip
Post by: Killerbug on October 18, 2011, 01:13:07 PM
Rust in the drive side end cap is a common problem with the Shimano Calcuttas and other reel of this design.  I found a solution to the problem, simply switch
the bearing for a brass bushing, from a ABU Amb 7000.

Good tip Killerbug.
Have you noticed any compromise on freespool etc?
Cheers, Justin

Not really, IMO the Calcutta was never at good caster anyway. But my old Amb 5500 outcasts anything using only bushings.
