Title: OLD PENN 114 SCHEMATIC
Post by: rainier on December 17, 2010, 07:07:53 PM
Does anyone have a schematic for the old Penn 114 with the external access to the drag stack under the handle, or a site that I can find one?  All I can find is the schematics for the newer reels that require disassembly of the reel to access the drag washers.

Thanks,
Rainier

i took a quick look and couldn't find one at either mike's or mysticparts.com.  i'm sure that mysticparts.com can help you out if there is question about part numbers.  alan

The only difference between the old 114s and the newer 114s is the drag stack. But if you are rebuilding the reel, you want to put in a modern 5 stack drag with HT-100s. That can be done without taking the reel completely apart but I'd really recommend taking the reel apart so that you can grease all internal parts, etc. BTW: You can squeeze in 6 metal washers and 6 HT-100s in the older reels.
