Title: Dog spring upgrade for new Torium 20HG ?
Post by: Fishead on July 21, 2019, 02:01:14 PM
Took my new torium 20HG apart to do the dog upgrade and found they changed the innards or the reel. They have a single post for the dog with no cover or retainer plate. I was not able to find a way to affix the dog spring so I put in the carbontex drags and put it back together with the factory dog. I guess I could have drilled a hole and put a small screw in the right spot.

Personally I wouldn't bother. It's a 50lb reel at the very outside, more like 40lb, and at appropriate drag for those line strengths I haven't heard of the anti-reverse failing like the old ones used to.
