Title: Fin Nor 12/A
Post by: Barcrasher on February 08, 2020, 03:54:57 AM
Hi Alan,

A couple of questions for you as I try and re-assemble a Fin Nor 12A.
Is there a certain thickness that the cork washer ring becomes ineffective ? What is optimum thickness? I have read some of your posts about replacing it with a carbon fiber ring, The one on this reel looks in pretty decent shape both in thickness and surface condition.
Is there any compound to put on the cork to enhance effectiveness? Also
where I am running into difficulty is figuring out how the inside of the drag lever with the two post interfaces with the hook on the pressure plate. I don't seem to be getting enough downward pressure to push the spool against the cork for a consistent drag setting.  Thanks in advance Alan

Not sure exactly what you mean with the two posts and the hook...
The entire mechanism is fairly limited in range. Make sure you haven't missed a washer or spacer somewhere. Adjusting the preset doesn't bring the drag back?
