this is the tank that Justin built(redsetta)penn 113h 4/0
sent it over to me to catch something large and test it out
I loaded it with 50lb braid(rope)
I haven't opened the reel to have a look,no need,
I just tweeked the drag
redsetta tell the tanites what you did
I didn't have a rod for the reel,so I got the
componets from jon vadney(quick) and built a spiral to
handle 20lb/25lb drag
with doctors and weather I haven't been able to get out
I also built another rod for 650ss,dont like them.
,ill take it with me also
so we have an Anzac tank as opposed to the yank tank.
as luck would have it I have discovered some
Samson fish  and yellow tail kingfish on a wreck no more
than a mile offshore in 20m.
I will win but at what cost ;D

Great pics mate. That rod looks fantastic - well done!
When Wallace mentioned he was back at the docs, I figured I'd build him a new reel - times like that it's good to have something to look forward to.
It's a Sal-inspired 113H 'Tank', with a Newell 'Marlin Special' conversion – in other words, a total workhorse.
It's got a lot of the 'AT family' in it:
Tanks can be expected to put out ~25lbs of drag all day, so should be great for dorado, amberjack, tuna, wahoo, yellowtail – anything of consequence that Wallace might encounter.
For some reason though, despite the drag being arranged the usual way, it wasn't hitting the peak numbers.
Wallace worked his magic and, with the addition of delrin, got it sorted.
Next post - the new rod doubled-over on a nice Samson ;) ;D
Good luck mate, and thanks to everyone mentioned above.
Cheers, Justin
PS I like the rigs - will use 'em chasing kings this summer!

Walacewt

I don't know why you are going through these tests but I just finished all my test. I received my clearance for the surgery on 11/3/14 to have my Gall Bladder removed. This should stop my nausea that I feel daily.

Good Luck Walace

Mike

That's a great looking rod with top notch guides. Is that a Ugly Stick blank?
