Title: Penn 30VSW

Allen, I'm working on a penn 30 svw and I can't seem to get the drag cover off. I read your rebuild of the 30 SW but the drag cover is different on the V model. There is a piece with ridges on the outside ring and a provision to use a spanner wrench but the cover won't budge.

The rest of the reel is in great shape with no corrosion anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Mick

if this is the right schematic......

.....find the lock pin (key #156A) and lift it up, then use the wrench and give the cover a whack!

Thank you, yes I realized that after wondering for 3 hours what the heck that little silver thing was on the drag cover.
