Been working with my machinist on a few new projects. More details will soon be available on the new blade/knob project, but for now I'll just give a tease picture.
....Don't blink or you might miss the latest and greatest from my twisted mind !! ;D ;D

Nice Ted! Another winner there!
Will wonders never cease?? :o

Without out a doubt my all time favorite handle design. Nice Ted, Those look incredible. Sheridan
Maybe make a few to fit Newells?
Wow Ted!
You have been busy :)

Sheridan, I don't own a Newell, so at this point in time I'm just sticking to jiggy and 113h handles.
I would need a NOS newell gear sleeve to make it happen.
-Ted
Just when I thought it was safe to put my money in my wallet... Wrong!
Ted, those came out great! I'm sure glad your twisted mind twists in our direction.
Sign me up for a couple of them puppies.
Thanks for hooking it up!
Dom
PS- is green in the works? ...had to ask
Nice handle design and color options.
Whats the ETA on these?
I've run out of adjectives to describe your creations Ted.
There awesome.
Ted, when are you going to start the new job so I can save a little money?
Steve
The camo one is Awesome
Awesome job :o
:o
Yes indeed, that camo is a cool twist. Way ta go Ted! 8)
Ted I think it's time for u to own a newell then....so u can justify making these for 113h, jigmasters AND newells. Hahaha
Nice work as usual. Camo is a different twist and looks great! :o
...............Lou
There is no stopping you now Ted...good job!
need a few!!

We are just starting production on prototypes and should have some ready to go in about 6-8 weeks. I'll keep you posted when the time arrives so you can be ahead of the gold rush that's sure to happen once the word gets out.
-Ted
any chance of some offset handles to come with it?

My man, do you have a price point yet? I can see I'm about to have a surplus of 24-66 and 24-113H.....

$45 for complete handle assembly with matching color Eva "Log" knob.
Thanks brother!
Sneak peek at the new beefy blade design. Single mounting hole location basically matches the 2nd hole on a stock 113H power handle.
-Ted
Now we just need to have the producers of the gear sleeves to make the ends a little longer to cover more of the handle thickness. Rudy
Ted that turned out nice!
Those look great!
Just ordered some offset handles for these knobs. Any idea on the ETA? ;D

Just curious Ted...how are these coming along?
We've had a couple minor production delays, but we all know patience is the key to getting things right the 1st time.
Right now the timeline for the 1st batch looks to be mid August to early September. Hope Ya'all are sitting down and strapped in, cause very soon we'll all be blasting off to the moon !!
-Ted
any updates on these?

any updates on these?
Yes, as a matter of fact I'll be sending first couple batches to anodizer early next week. The first ones should be ready in late Sept.
Ted
Duuuuuudddddddde
Ted - Will the 113H handle fit a 349 gear sleeve? Chris.
I hope Ted doesn't mind me butting in, but yes Chris the 113H handles fit 349 sleeves. The 113H sleeves will fit in a 349 as well, the ratchet is slightly smaller but they work well (thanks Lee for the tip!) - which means you can put a custom stainless sleeve in the 349 to handle the extra drag from Adam's drag inserts.
Mike
Thanks Mike, your knowledge and input is always greatly appreciated.
-Ted
SICK! They look great, ted.
Hey Ted is the 2/0 for the jiggy's or...?
Looking forward to your new stuff,
Dom
Thanks Mike - my wallet gets lighter by the day ;D Chris.

The 2/0 stamp on the handle designates fitment to all Penn reels up to and including the black 113 4/0
It was my idea to put 2/0 on the jiggy size handle just to put my own twist on things.......plus creating confusion is right up my alley !!
Ted
That's great Ted. Ill be ordering some too.
im gonna possibly regret this but I was asking about the knob lol :D

LOL....glad you asked and not me!
I am saying nuffin ;D ;D ;D
LOL, I fully understand....... inquiring minds need to know
The knobs will be log shaped and one solid piece of Eva or similar material, which is all in my hands and ready to go......The Eva is colored to match all the colors of the Cortez rainbow. Green, ice blue, red, silver, black, and even a few crazy colors like orange/black camo and ice blue camo. I'll put up a couple samples in next day or 2.
Ted
I like the number stamping and think it will make your life and our lives much easier when ordering.
Thanks for doing this, Ted
Dom
Any gold for 4/0?
Gold will happen eventually, just not right away.
Test
testing.....
is it just me or is the last page not loading?
It's not just you.......last page is not loading for anyone.
Possibly a hiccup from Bryan trying to add a pic I emailed to him.

Hi Rudy, I've been dealing with family emergency last couple days. Hopefully everything is back to normal soon
If there is anything we can do to help, Ted --
We are here...
Best,
Fred
Not sure what's going on, but I'm also hoping everything goes back to normal as well, for you and family.
As Fred mentioned, we are here if needed.
Sal
Thanks for the kind offers guys, but my problems are miniscule in comparison to all those people in Texas.
Here is a pic of all the different colored eva for the knobs. My excitement factor is building as we get closer to a finished product. Hopefully a few of you are getting excited too !!
Ted
Ted,
Can't believe I missed your last posting with the photos of your eva grips. Yep, excited and loving the selection. The ice blue, red, and silver are a must for this guy and I'm looking very forward to your new design. Out of curiosity, is the eva glued on or is it a tight fit? I dig the camo stuff too... Aiala, I see your name all over that pink camo.
Thanks for wetting our whistle, Ted

Glue is not good for longevity. It's tough to explain, but have no worries, the Eva will be mounted on a solid bar of 6061 and will not budge once they are assembled
Ted
I should've known you weren't gonna do it the way most do... you go top shelf every time!
Looking forward to seeing your project comet life,
Dom
Holy moly....I'm gonna need a red one with black foam(to hide fish blood) for my 113hlw. Can't wait to see these handles when they're ready Ted. Hope everything gets taken care of and that everyone is ok.
Aloha,
Kyle
Yes, it is getting exiting. Dom , you have to pair with your new titanium stuff, cant wait to see that.
You got that right, John. Looking forward to these to add that WOW factor! 8)
Dom
There will be 2 sizes of knobs available. The gold one is pro gear just for comparison
I may have missed, are you doing any gold handles with black Eva?

Jigmaster or 113h ??
I will take both when you have them
Getting closer to production mode with every passing day.
With the culmination of the design process complete, I am now able to figure my "per unit" cost.
Complete blade/knob assembly will be less than $50.
Here is one of the first prototypes
The first batch of blades are engraved with a BFT (blue fin tuna). Each batch will have a different fish.
We sure have a lot of talent on this site -- in so many different areas.
Great work, Ted --
Form, function, and efficiency = simple & effective.
Plus, very attractive.
Best,
Fred
Here comes wallet opening time - again ;D
did the other thread get nuked? I wanted to know if the knobs were going to be solid foam or split like the original pics.

ohhh got it. Ok thanks. I was really looking forward to that version. Guess ill have to look for some old pro gear handles to cannibalize .. :(
It's pretty easy to swap out the grips on a pro gear knob. I have some black material that will slide on over the end button on the pg knobs
That looks awesome! Can't wait to hook my reels up with those puppies. Love that the spindle is anodized as well.
We appreciate you taking the time to get it perfect before you put them out for us.
Yeah baby!

nice, I really liked the blades
are you making them on 3/0 and 4/0 size?
....Yes, both jigmaster and 113H blades will be available. The jigmaster blade will fit any Penn from black 113 on down.
Ted
These 113 blacks are lacking some nice new MaxedOut handles. One has the narrow kit and the other one is std width. Nice product!!
Something is lacking on the Raider reels (Jiggy size), as you called them Ted.
And here's a couple of Ted's 113HN kits needing some handles. Whether with Tom's plates or with stock plates ,these parts are awesome.
I'll need a few more shift levers and some handles. Well done Ted and Tom!!
Anthony, looks like you are in need of a few handles.
The first batch will be ready before new year's day if all goes according to plan
Ted
Ted,
We're all hoping it's a big batch!!!.....drool...
Brett
Merry Christmas to everyone....2017 was a good year for us hot rod guys and gals and I have a feeling 2018 will be the year we see the glass ceiling smashed once again by more mind boggling new upgrades never seen before..... I try to do my part, but I'm admittedly not nearly as talented as the others on here making custom parts....I'm just a daydreamer who found a machinist who could make something I could only visualize in my head. Not any skill involved on my behalf. All of my inspiration comes from this forum...every single spec !!
...just waiting on one last component before a few handle assemblies finally come to life. Blue and green are still a couple weeks out. The odd blueish color was experimental pewter color I had itch to try
Here is a sneak peek ;) ;)
Ted
Ted,
They look great! Excited to see the amazing ways people throw combos together with these.
Nick
Just clearing up last few details on the components for the new handle/knob assemblies. The color combinations will be darn near endless
.....I hope to have some ready within next 2-3 weeks...or less !!
Nice Ted, Those are my favorite handles. Looks great in red and black!
These are sweet Ted. Well done again!
These handles are fantastic Ted, the color combinations, the heft, the design,
just fantastic! I need to stop buying corroded old project reels for a few weeks and save some money to build a project worthy of one of these handles. 8)
.....Getting closer every day. Silver, red, and black will be ready within 2 weeks, then blue and green are about a week behind that.
For now I'm refining my assembly methods and having fun at the same time !!
another angle
Oh wow! I think I'm in love! ;D
Camo has always been my favorite color!
....another test assembly
....and another
....and the logo
Ted is only showing 4/0. Here is the sweet jiggy blade on the Cherry Bomb. Shifter and clamp also Maxed Out.
WOW, now that is a sexy looking reel. I bet it functions better than it looks.....it's nice to have form and function come together from the AT custom world
Btw, those are all jiggys I have pictured, but not as sweet as yours 8) 8)
Didn't have my glasses on first view. This one has DD SS bridge Sal gave me as well as steel gears and all shiny chrome under hood. Form and function. I will need a grey camo 4/0 handle. Sick.
wow! I didn't see these! I am definitely interested in the future!
John,
That reel is too flashy. Fish might as easily be attracted to it as they are the lure!
Is that going on a silver, red, and black thorhammer special?
Nick
Eventually. It's on a Penn rampage jugging rod in those colors now and actually looks pretty good.
Can't wait to get my 4/0 Maxed Out! ;D
