And so it begins.....
Best of luck, Alan!
Hoping for a great trip,
Best, Fred
Have fun Alan!
Alan usually drives to my house and I drive him to the airport in his vehicle. It saves Joy from having to get up early and take him. I then park his vehicle at my house until I have to pick him up on the return. It works out well and I usually get some tuna on the return. Well, I have a touch of diarrhea and cannot go 10 feet from my outhouse. Alan was due here at 7:00 a.m. so I called my buddy Jueno to see if he could do the run. Sure enough he came through. Jueno drove them and I retired to the outhouse (twice) so it was a good thing I did not have to drive to the airport. Bueno Jueno. Dominick
Go get 'em Boss!
Dom, get your gut, or outhouse, in order! :)

Remember, Tequila is mostly water and the little bit of alcohol will act as an antiseptic! Slàinte Mhath or buena salud en español!

Is the Southern expulsion due to Montezuma's revenge when you were South of the border?
Yes Fred. Since 8 of 10 of us was affected I suspect it was a restaurant in San Jose where we picked up some bug. The 2 of us that were not affected with the "Hershey Squirts" did not go to the restaurant. The hotel has purified water and the purity is strictly controlled. While I don't drink water out of the tap, I do have ice and fresh salads that have been washed in the hotel water. I have dodged the brown bullet for 22 years. It'll pass. Dominick
<NEVER TRUST A FART>
Boy up here on top of my hill I miss ALL the excitement.

About 35 years ago — we had a Rotary Event out on the river at Coombs Ranch. Nice August Saturday evening, Rib-eye steak dinner, dancing, etc..
The next day, my wife got really sick, I got sick later that day.
I started checking with other members as I was writing our weekly newsletter on Monday morning. Everyone who attended the dinner, and had the steak, instead of the chicken — got very ill. Around 80 folks.
Turns out, the guy who picked up the cases of Rib-eyes decided it was OK to leave them in his garage for 24 hours before bringing them out to the event. Unrefrigerated. Guess he thought they would hold their cold in Fresno, in the middle of August — without any refrigeration.
Funny thing was, it was one of the most tender and tasty steaks I ever had.
Illness lasted 2 or 3 days —
Hope you feel better soon, Dominick.
Best Always,
Fred
As much as I hate antibiotics I started on ciprofloxacin. I need to be germ free for surgery on Wednesday. Dominick

:0( At least you were fishing.
Looks like you guys (and your tequila!) Became Facebook stars.
Sucks to hear about the slow fishing, but good to hear you got a few fish to take home
Ben was telling me that you guys were not able to fish close to the island on this trip and that the other two boats (Apollo and ??) are no longer fishing there. Whats up with that ? When we went we were on the beach in shallow water.
Cheers:
Todd
my friends were on the next trip and they caught 20. i guess we just suck.

Sounds like a good trip! The boat didn't sink, no one died or went to jail, you ate and drank too much and even caught a few fish... what's to complain about?
Like your style Mark!

Totally agree!
It was a good trip. Except for catching fish! And misplacing $4-500. I'm beginning to think I'm the "unlucky charm" on the NTNC. I haven't caught a tuna on my last 4 trips to PV. Did catch a 10' sailfish and some decent bottom fish.
I had great success on my 1st few trips down there (on the Marla IV) including a supercow. I guess I wore out my luck.
GA Mike
Don't get me wrong, fishing is fishing, we take the good with the bad and enjoy the experience. My question was more about what is/ may be going on with the restriction around fishing near the islands. It sounds like the Navy is actually enforcing the closed zone now and not letting the boats close to the beach anymore. Is that true ?? Is that why the Apollo stopped going there? It might not be a bad thing if they did stop all the long lines that were fishing there.
Cheers:
Todd
Yeah, I'm not really sure. The guys right after us caught alot of smaller fish, 60 to 150 pounds. It might just be a matter of someone just being really bad luck!!!
