Quote from: Gfish on May 10, 2024, 08:49:06 PMYup. What to do though? I hate lawns to begin with. Yeah, they look nice and they're good to play on, but expensive to care for and time consuming and lawnmower/weedeater noise oriented. Gimme cement, bout 10' around my house and 10' wide driveway.

No matter what we as human kind do now, there are too many of us, more than this earth can sustain.
I prefer to keep soil and indigenous plants around my yard, looks nice and is as close to what that patch is supposed to look like..... I think.

Just think of drainage if you have cement, concrete, pavers and whatever where must all the water go when there are big rains?    All around the world there are floods.

Have any of you seen this:-
It's a bit long but an animation of a new pumping system currently being installed in the Netherlands, those pumps can fill an Olympic size pool in 50 seconds!  There are high quality webcams somewhere, I HAVE SEEN THEM BUT CAN'T FIND THEM NOW.

The Netherlands has a new problem, too much water is now moving from land towards the sea and they now need to increase the rate of drainage in to the ocean.    They have managed their old problem too well, keeping the ocean out of the land.

Sorry, this is deviating a bit from plastic carbs...LOL

Quote from: oldmanjoe on May 10, 2024, 09:20:22 PM;D  OK I call you Old fashion or Stubborn , I am in the same boat .  I do have gas powered and 110 electric powered blowers , chain saws and hedge trimmers .    I will pick the 110  electric tools  first.    Cheaper to run  , always starts when you hit the trigger .

I do not know what the cost analyst is to charge up batteries verse using 110 straight .
Yes it is nice to pick up a battery tool for the quick work .

Most of my smaller stuff like blowers, weedeaters, etc. are electric. It's all those batteries polluting the world that I dislike and am against.  ;)

Quote from: Bill B on May 10, 2024, 11:24:10 PMLet's call this throw back Thursday.  Going through mom's picture books I found this picture of me from October 1972.  Making me eight years old.  The notes say it ws on the Umpqa River in Oregon, the rod was a Browning, 300 Mitchell with 6 lb test.  The lure if I remember correctly was a gold colored spoon, hammered on one side.  Sadly we were traveling by car and ended up donating the fish to a restaurant in exchange for a salmon steak dinner.  Bill
Now that's cool,,,, ;)
I got 3 today,,,, ;D

Quote from: Gfish on Today at 03:00:28 AMCool, a worm gear spincaster. A tuff looking reel. Sorry no idea about AR. Did you reassemble it and the AR didn't work?

Never did work. The thing is crazy smooth. The main gear is at least a quarter inch thick and surprisingly plastic.

Yep, just looked at the listing Jason. The listing says those sloppy blades are made in China. That seller only sells stuff made in China. Buyer beware !!
