Title: Daiwa Millionaire 103 baitcaster

Alan, now I'm looking at my fantastic little Daiwa baitcaster which has caught many barramundi in competitions. Great reel.

Problem with the free-spool lever as it won't re-engage when cranking the handle. On inspection, the factory grease inside the reel is like a dry-grease - white and pasty - and this may be why the lever and springs are stiff - there is not other obvious mechanical reason why the gear is not engaging. Would you recommend getting this grease out and replacing it with Yamaha blue grease or similar?

I've answered my own question by using blue grease after getting rid of as much of the white, pasty stuff loaded by the factory as possible. The reel runs as smooth as silk. Didn't touch the drag.
