jimmer had a great idea of having a running list of the different sizes of bearings for all the reels. and he's right. if everyone chips in, this could be a real time saver for everyone. the list will go by manufacturer (penn, shimano, etc.), then by model name (say, curado), then by model number (100D, 300E) and then by bearing location with the dimensions (left spool 4x11x4). just post your bearing dimensions here and the moderators will add it to the list. jimmer, thanks for the great idea!
Wow! This thread didn't go anywhere ???. I searched for this thread because I need the size for spool bearings for a Penn International 50VSW does anyone have the answer? If not I will take the reel apart and measure them and post the size here.

Hi. This is that top bearing under the star. the common Industry "confusers" are R1412, R1412ZZ, R6-1/2, and R6ZZ-1/2. Try AST bearings in New Jersey....the stainless ones were 7.00 a couple of years back.
If fully rusted closed, they can be made runnable till you get one. All you need is a rotary tool, like an actual dremel, or one of the clones. Remove bearing off driveshaft, adjust channel-lock or vise grip type pliers to hold the OD of the brg.
Take a cutoff wheel, and cut a slot across the inner race. Use a big screwdriver to loosen the bearing up, so you can re-grease.The assumption being that the rust has not totally disintegrated the balls, or the cage. (Usually not) This will get you by, sometimes hardly even rough. Most times, a little thump, but runnable till the new one gets in.

Just post here and, as the number of posts grows, it'll be compiled into a standalone list.
Great work documenting these BB/drag sizes by the way. ;)

AST in CA/NJ about 8.00 and adds, SMB in England for about 6 UKP for the Japanese ones, and 2 UKP for the Chinese ones plus adds and wait. SMB is calling them SR6ZZ-1/2 Both the Japan and the Chinese are stainless.

Here is a compilation of just about every bearing and where used for Avet reels.
Avet sells bearing by reel model and not bearing size. So i ordered every bearing for every reel from Avet and measured and compiled this file.If there are any erros please PM me so I can updat this.

Bloody well done Jim :)
fabulous! jim, can you repost this in the avet section. i'll make it a sticky!
Hope this is the right place to post this.
A local tackle shop just dumped their imperial bearing inventory on me at a bargain price.
Among them was about a dozen MBA bearings: sr3-mc3-af12; dimensions: 0.1875 x 0.5 x 0.1563 = 3/16 x 1/2 x 5/32
Trouble is I cannot seem to find a match for what reel these might possibly fit !
They are not listed in Boca's inventory and I have not encountered these before.
Has anybody used these before and know what reel they might belong to?
~
That 0.1563 width is kinda odd.... otherwise it would've fit the Avet MXL, left spool bearing. Not all too many manufacturers use imperial bearings.

I stumbled across this list on Boca Bearing's site.
It cross references any Shimano Bearing part number to equivalent Boca replacements listing their dimensions.
So now we can easily find any bearing size for ALL Shimano reels. Great huh!

We have them on the shelf here in R3ZZ and WR3ZZ we sell quite a few next when some one orders them I'll ask what reel they need them for. Penn are the main users of imperial bearings in the UK.

Daiwa Saltist LW20HA - LW50HA (older silver reels with 4 bearings and one IAR bearing, not sure if these are the same as the "saltist levelwind 20 HC" that Vjtrey1 was asking about 6 months ago - probably too late to help anyway)
1 of 7.0 x 14.0 x 3.5 (6G279601 – Gear shaft bottom bearing)
2 of 8.0 x 14.0 x 4.0 (6G523403 – Gear shaft top bearing & 6G427201 – spool bearing handle side)
1 of 4.0 x 11.0 x 4.0 (6G427701 – Spool bearing non handle side)
plus one 3 x 8 x 4 nylon? bushing (6E608801) in the handle side plate under the spool tension knob - some people swap this bushing for another bearing. I'm not sure if it helps much, it probably feels smoother if you know it's there.

Yes.
They are the same size. There have been several (maybe 3?) different versions over the history of the models. Maybe introduction of ceramic hybrid bearings, or the release of the newer version 80WA or 50WLRS models?
Just a guess.

I don't have it written down, don't have any bearings in stock, or Tiagras on my bench right now.
You may have to pull a tailplate off of one of your reels and break out those calipers you bought last year?

Tiagra 50W
4 bearings, all same
shimano part # TT0033 - 8x22x7
Tiagra 50WLRSA
4 bearings, all same
shimano part # TT0576 - 8x22x7
Tiagra 80W
4 bearings all same
shimano part # TT0033 - 8x22x7
Tiagra 80WA
4 bearings all same
shimano part # TT0576 - 8x22x7
Do all of the "like numbered" bearings have the same bore for the shaft(s), i.e. they are all 8*22*7 - aren't they effectively the same bearing?
Yes.
They are the same size. There have been several (maybe 3?) different versions over the history of the models. Maybe introduction of ceramic hybrid bearings, or the release of the newer version 80WA or 50WLRS models?
Just a guess.
John
any idea of the bore size?
thinking of using angular contact bearings in a tiagra to replace TT0576
I don't have it written down, don't have any bearings in stock, or Tiagras on my bench right now.
You may have to pull a tailplate off of one of your reels and break out those calipers you bought last year?
i just moved house and everything is packed away :(

The following are only spool bearings...
Avet JX .185 X .685 X .250
.185 X .375 X .125
I need to change the 4 bearings on an Avet lx 2-speed
2 of the smaller ones for the spools
1 bigger one for the left side of the spool
1 pinion bearing
does anyone has the sizes to get them from Dawn in smoothdrag?
Shimano Tyrnos 50II 2speed LRS
IDxODxT
1 x 10x22x6 TGT1418 Pinion bearing
1 x 08x19x6 TGT1429 Left side bearing
2 x 08x16x5 TGT0483 Spool bearings
It would be nice if someone could compile a list of all that information you guys have furnished on a post headed Reel bearings. Just a thought.

jimmer had a great idea of having a running list of the different sizes of bearings for all the reels. and he's right. if everyone chips in, this could be a real time saver for everyone. the list will go by manufacturer (penn, shimano, etc.), then by model name (say, curado), then by model number (100D, 300E) and then by bearing location with the dimensions (left spool 4x11x4). just post your bearing dimensions here and the moderators will add it to the list. jimmer, thanks for the great idea!

PENN 980 Mag Power
Spool Bearings: Handle Side 0.125" x 0.375" x 0.15"
Left side 0.187" x 0.500 x 0.196"
Is probably the same for Penn 970 and 990. I know for sure there were three reels in the Mag Power Series.
Have added new stainless steel bearing sizes to my website.
