I am taking apart a 140, question is, how do you remove the chrome rings off of the left sideplate? Thanks, Steve.

If the rings are difficult to remove I will slide a single edge razor blade between the ring and frame and gentility pry the ring off.  I would recommend wearing gloves.  Sometimes I will spray some WD 40 between the frame and ring and let it set for a few minutes.

John has it right.  That's the way to go.  Usually if they are that tight they are clean underneath.  Dominick

Believe it or not, running your thumbnail along the seam sometimes works.  I always try this first before resorting to other methods.

small pocket knife.  pry with the blade at the 6 o'clock position.
