Man I worry I'm sounding like I'm giving you a hard time, but that ain't a ghost pepper. Probably still tasty though. PM me your address and I'll send you out some seeds for some real ones.

(Edited bc apparently I can't spell)

I'd like to humbly offer this recipe.  I substitute bacon for shortening.  Cook the bacon in the skillet while preheating it in the oven.  Cook until crisp.  Remove to a paper towel and crumble, stir into the mix.  Remove grease and measure back in according to the recipe.  Keep the skillet hot.  You want the mix to sizzle when pouring it into the skillet.  This makes the bottom firm and crispy, but not burned.

Note that there is NO SUGAR in this recipe.  That would be blasphemous.  This is not corn cake.

If you really want to get traditional, half the recipe and cook in a 12" cast iron skillet.  It will come out about 3/4" thick.  When done, cover with a cutting board flip the skillet over, and it will fall out without breaking.  Slice it like a pizza.  It "handles" much better at the table than a 3" crumbly square.

I would have to dig a bit deeper in my older storage drives for pics of my own ghosts. I now realize my seeds are getting pretty old. Doc said no spice and I hate to admit he's right. So I haven't done much pepper growing lately. I can search some online pics and find some accurate ones though if that's helpful.

Man I miss it. Doc told me over a year ago I had to give up hot peppers and bread. Which was brutal because I liked spice so much I literally used to own a small batch hot sauce company. But then it's also possible all the sampling I did caused my intestinal shortcomings. Either way it sucks, and I miss it.

If you truly love pepper sauces or just looking for seeds to grow you own, check out (not endorsing) https://puckerbuttpeppercompany.com.  I love me the "Bacon me Crazy" (endorsing this one) sauce for everyday eating -- just the right heat level and flavor for my everyday taste buds.

I've grown the reapers before and still have sauce 3 years later -- nice fruity [e[[er taste but a bit hot for everyday eats.

That looks good, Benni!  Wife, and I, and our son, started "squeezing cider', this morning, it's been a drizzley day, and with juice splashing, and lots of "apple washing"...I'm soaked, and a bowl of that Chili would sure hit the spot!!

From the developer, one of the five people that have tried to eat one:

"I was feeling the heat for three-and-a-half hours. Then the cramps came," said Currie, one of only five people so far to eat a entire Pepper X. "Those cramps are horrible. I was laid out flat on a marble wall for approximately an hour in the rain, groaning in pain."
