Title: Torium spool bearings
Post by: taz575 on April 12, 2011, 11:07:12 AM
I am working on yet another Torium for a friend of mine.  The bearing that is attached to the spool shaft seems to be shot, lots of white salt/corrosion powder was all over it and it doesn't spin very well.  I have the spool assembly from a Tor 20 that the shaft was bent, but the bearing is good.  Can I use the modified Alan Tani plier method to remove the cross pin and swap out the bearings??  Will the Tor 20 spool bearing fit the Tor 30?

Don't spoil the ship for a ha'porth of tar, fit a new bearing.
