Title: What kind of Vintage/Antique line is this?

It's not shiny like nylon or even silk. Linen? Any idea on the age of such a line?

The reel is an OC "Jones Beach" that was cataloged from '38 to '42.

twisted linen. age, no idea....Steve or Mike C may be able to call it.

Probably as old as the reel.

Thanks guys. What I could find out, the 19-teens (prob earlier) into the 1940s.
