As of now I am on hold again on the 15-140 project. The spring hole is not something I have the tooling to drill. Working on it but if I have to pay to get them drill them it will drive the price up, I will keep the price as low as possible, $3.50 + drilling cost.
Would a slot in the 15-140 dog and a 14-99 or 14-500 spring work? I think the spring can be installed.
Lee, do we have any hope on the spring hole? What would the added cost be? Depending on the answers, I would consider something like a 500-type spring.
Mike
Working on both but machenest friend is out of town chacing cougars. The new design ones should be cut soon.
The four legged or two legged variety.

Four legged, dumped that plan and decided to catch sturgeon.

NICE catch. What gti reel is that behind you?
Did u catch it with the 320, I have a 330 rarely use not to comfortable with the frame. After seeing that size of fish I might start using it a bit more. :)

The reel needs a new gear set and time in my shop. I use a ABU 6501 at times for them. A 112H, 113H or Jigmaster size reel is enough for keepers, not so good for ovetsize.

How large do the oversized ones get? The latest gears and bridge for the 4/0 might do a good job on them.
Up to 20' and 1600 pounds.

Hey, Lee, I know you threw up your hands on this project because of tooling issues with drilling the hole, but would you again consider the slot? I would be good for a half dozen pieces. Thanks.

Going to the trouble of drilling that hole might not be worth it with the 14C-140's discontinued.
A modified dog to use a 14-99?
I'd definitely be interested in stocking them if they were doable.
I'll take a half dozen if this happens
Nice dinosaur~ ;D I mean the fish... 8)

I still owe Mo a quote for these dogs. My bad.
I do have a slug of bronze for this project already purchased.
I thought we were talking stainless.

In order to keep the price reasonable and hold true to the original part,
I went with marine bronze. Same/similar to original. I make a modded dog
for my Squidder kits out of stainless where the cost is absorbed in the total
cost. This dog doesn't have the extra lobe for the knuckle buster switch.
Bronze works for us. Thanks for the update.
If you want to make sure I see the quote, use the contact form, thanks!

I need a half dozen from who ever I should order from when this happens, and no knuckle buster live suits me fine. I've had people accidentally hit the lever in a rod holder under tension and you know that didn't end well.
Thanks Tom, and the rest of the folks bringing the goods. I wish I had any skill to offer but I have only my patronage lol.

I'm good for a half dozen in bronze. Thanks.
Bronze is a good material for dogs, in some ways better than SS.
I am in for four.
If we have to go back to the blade/leaf spring it may be a worthy consideration if there was a little "STOP" or notch at the end to keep the blade from sliding into your innards. I have a black plate 140 with the blade return spring. There is a notch in the plate to receive the blade but it always ends up sliding inward and getting loose in there.
It could easily be designed as a dual use dog. Old, new, retro, coil spring, blade spring, R&R and double dogg with one AR Dog.
PM me and we'll get you paid.
Thank you
Hoyt
count me in for 4... thanks!
