Title: Shimano Nasci Bail
Post by: Ruffy on January 19, 2018, 10:42:13 PM
Hi All,
I managed to pick up a brand new looking Nasci from a second hand shop for $40, only issue was a busted bail. On inspection the bail spring guide (RD17851) was made of plastic and in about 3 pieces. I rang up Shimano parts here in Australia for a replacement and old mate was surprised to hear that I had one still in plastic. He explained that they had a lot of failures early on and went to the more common metal rod and washer, replacing all plastic ones free of charge. Just posting as a heads up for anyone who may have the same problem, get on to Shimano and they'll send you one out. It's a straight swap and now I've got a good real for a song.

Cheers,
Andrew

I've had that same reel in my shop and had to do the same fix, it seems like common problem with those.
