Title: Any Penn Reel Grease Gurus?
Post by: Cuttyhunker on July 29, 2020, 12:36:47 PM
These are some old tubes from dad's boxes, the gray one on the left has a metal cap, the right green one is a deeper color green, any ideas on the dating?

The grey grease tube with metal tip is an early one and would have come in the 30s style dual tube box along with a similar yellow tube of oil.
The orange one is from the late 40s-50s era and would have come in a green box
The green tubes are newer and would have come in the 60s/70s style light blue/white box
The blue one is even later and would have come in a darker blue/white box similar to the colors of the tube

The two green ones  can confirm as having come with my first Penn's 60/70.

Nice memories of my first "propper" reels.
