Title: Bearings require a spacer washer?

I was wondering if the bearings in my p447f and 641-3 are supposed to have any washers in the cup to provide precise alignment?  I get slight friction and resistance when testing the freespool spin and tiliting the reel to put it's weight on the gears side.  It definitely rubs on something.

Yes.  I think brains on Oahu get the shims, or you can call Norma at Newell.  Also if yours are like mine you can also play with the plastic ring that goes on the bearing cup. Different colors=different thicknesses.

But I might be wrong
