Title: quick power champion

Does anyone know anything about DAM Quick Power Champion reels? I just bought a 430LDL on ebay at a price I couldn't ignore and cannot find much info on it.

Any info would be appreciated.

leverdrag reels are all very similar in basic design.  the main issue would be replacing the stock drag washer with carbon fiber if needed.  i'm not thinking that it would be that difficult to service.

Been around for close to twenty years. Not much to add, other than that a guy I know who used to work for DAM dismissed it outright as absolute junk; pure rubbish- do not buy. That was before they hired their current engineer superstar. Never seen one myself. Would be interested to see / hear more, since there should be a reason for keeping the product alive for twenty years.

Your mileage may vary.

Thanks. I will try it out on tiles this May and report back. At least I bought it cheap ($65.00), so if it breaks it won't be a tragedy. The extendable handle supposedly gives a mechanical advantage when cranking so we'll see if it helps with 4lbs of lead.
