Title: Shimano Calcutta ct-100 vs ct-100b
Post by: Steelyfinn on October 01, 2020, 07:01:25 PM
What are the differences between a Calcutta ct-100 as compared to a ct-100b?

Will a clutch bar from a ct-100b (bnt 3408) work in a ct-100 (bnt 1443)?

Donno.  But, the clutch bar is the same in a Calcutta 50 and Calcutta 50b.

Those damn clutch bars are the first thing to wear out on a Calcutta.

if it's same, but ANYTHING is different (even slightly different color shade), it'll have a different part#
very common w/ Shimano parts...  esp., plastic

Thanks for the replies.  I think I may be able to find a replacement or substitute.

Update -

The ct-100 is the first model of Calcutta (silver finish, early '90's production) and the ct-100b (gold tint) is the updated version.
I believe the ct-150 was produced between those two models.

The clutch bar for a 100b does work in a 100 and is only a darker grey in color.  The same clutch bar should also work in a 150. The 100b clutch bar (bnt 3408) is still available.

I also think the "b" has a back up anti reverse pawl.
