Title: How to post photos
Post by: broadway on January 11, 2011, 03:15:15 AM
Hey guys,

I'm trying to post my photos for an hour, but all I get is an error has occurred cause the file is too large.  I know it's me, and not the site...so what do I do now?  Can I shrink photos?
Thanks
Dom

Yes, you use a program called photoshrink! ;D ::) Just kidding.

there are a number of photo hosting sites - I use Image Shack - that let you post your pictures in an online account for FREE. Once you set this up then when uploading photos it will give you the option to resize for web sites. One box to click then hit upload.

From there you open that site and this one in separate tabs/windows.

Type your post here, click the second row, second icon -insert image - and copy the photo hosting image link and paste it over here.

Hope that made sense. Photobucket is another site to host images.

Photo hosting can be really expensive for a private site like this, and this site come out of Alan's pocket.  Other sights can host photos because they usually have sponsors and advertisers that help pay for the extras.  I know it's a pain, but at least this sight is filled with free information without getting bleeped by an add hoping that you will buy something.

Whoa! ... I'm on this site cause I love the hobby, knowledge sharing, comradery, and the lack of pop ups/ advertisers/ flashing crap all over the screen, too.  All I was saying is I was hoping it would be easier for a computer re-re like myself.  Let's see what mom can do, she was a secretary for 40 years...I'm sure she can figure it out.  I don't think you guys know how long it takes me to just write a posting like this (about ten minutes).  God Bless Alan... if yall didn't know how I feel about Alan's generosity now you do:)  Hey Bryan, some of those viagra ads may be good for some of these ole' salts on this site  ::) Don't worry... I won't mention names :o
