Title: slipping lever of Penn 50S
Post by: nicky.phil on June 08, 2009, 03:14:09 AM
Hi Alan,

Need your advice on how to cure the problem of my 50S eccentric drag lever, the boats we use here are

run by diesel engine the vibration causes the lever to fall from a Strike position to Free spool position. I

have placed a rubber band on top of the lever then warp it on the Harness lug while trolling.

Any way we may fix this?

Thank you.

Nicky

when a penn international 50S is in gear, there should be enough pressure to hold the lever in place.  i'm surprised you're having this much trouble.  are you using a really light drag setting?  alan

Hi Alan,
normally I apply 15 lbs of drag on my 50S reels but due to the heavy vibration of our local diesel run boat it slips to free spool position from strike position. is there any spring or parts we can replace to cure this? thanks
