After a crew member reeled in a Porpoise, I changed my topshot and found lever stuck at freespool. Took it apart but I'm stumped. Anybody had this problem and what was the solution? I'm thinking about dropping it off at Cal's on the way home. Last service was, as far as I know, by Cal's in '09. That according to a sticker inside the frame.
try backing off the drag preset lever (the smaller of the two) and see if that frees up the main drag lever.
there may have been damage to the side plate.
Had it apart yesterday, no luck, still stuck. Dropping it off at Cal's Friday on the way home. They serviced it in '09 according to the sticker on the inside of the frame. Assume probably blueprint and installed Easy Shift. It will be money well spent and I have a $25 off certificate from the chartermaster.
