When I pull the lever down to cast it goes to far, an when I start reeling it want engage an come up. What am I doing wrong?

I figured it out, lever was on backwards

If you fish that reel in saltwater, make extra sure you put a thin coat of grease on all internal metal parts. Also, make sure the handle and drive shaft are greased. These reels seem to have lots of corrosion issues at least up here in Alaska.

The freespool lever on the current design Abu 7000 series can be a pain in the back side to be placed correctly, I had a bit of a fight with my AG seven one.

Wow!  I cant say I'm a fan of the internals on these... Jeff
