Title: Chronarch 200e6
Post by: fishinintx on July 18, 2017, 05:25:23 PM
I have a e6 that is making a slight clatter on reeling. when I turn the reel upside down it quits. Ive checked the cast control and they are good. Im leaning to pawl as when the pressure is removed it quiets down. Any ideas?
Thanks
Stacy

most likely it's the backup anti reverse pawl. If the noise bothers you then just remove it. As long as the AR clutch is in good shape then the pawl is just a backup. I have a bunch if E series reels. Most have the pawl removed. I left the pawl in the reel I use for jerkbaits because there is so much force on the AR clutch with that method. That reel does make clickity clackety noises.
