Title: carbontex drag washer
Post by: try to fish on December 09, 2009, 06:23:15 AM
hi,

[1] just wondering if its o.k to cut any standard carbontex drag washer to the required size?.currently have a full sets of daiwa saltist washer (too big) and am thinking to cut it to fit into daiwa pluton.

[2] also,is it all right to double stack the washer ie:carbontex(1),s/s washer(2)--------1,2,1,2,1,2 (standard configuration) to something like 1,1,2,1,2,1,2 ?.would the modified configuration gain more pressure?.

thanks.

heng.

yes, cutting them down to size is no problem.  also, when you double stack the carbon washers, they actually still function as one.  i do that alot for some of the older daiwa reels.  you would gain more pressure only if the shorter stack was bottoming out.   alan
